Re-opening our church buildings-

OPEN FOR PUBLIC SERVICES IN THE PARISH OF HARPENDEN

All Saints’, St Mary’s, St Nicholas’

We are very happy to be opening our church buildings for public worship in a limited way.  It will not be the same as before lockdown.  It is very important that if you are shielding you continue to do so, and if you have any symptoms you do not come to a public service (or for private prayer).  Our online services will continue.

UPDATE:  As of 8th August, Face masks are now REQUIRED when attending an indoor church service.  Thank you for your cooperation.

General notes (Please read): ~Social distancing means seating will be limited.  ~You will be asked to sanitize your hands as you come in and leave.  ~We now require that you attend with a mask and only remove it to receive communion (if you choose to receive).  ~There will be no singing and limited or no music.  ~Where possible we will operate with separate entry and exit doors.  ~We ask that you refrain from social conversation in the building; please have your conversations outside. ~We may ask you to register your name and contact details (we are encouraged to do so but are not required).  At this point we are not operating a booking system, but if needs be, we will implement one.  ~We may ask for a few volunteers to help clean after the service.  ~We ask that if you attend a mid-week worship service in church that you do not attend on Sundays.  ~It is important that if you develop COVID symptoms after attending a service that you inform us as soon as possible.

ST MARY’S will be holding a service of the word at 9.30am on Sundays through August, with live streaming and recording, to make available later.  There will also be a Tuesday morning 10am BCP Holy Communion service on the first and third Tuesday of the month.

ST NICHOLAS’ will be holding a said Common Worship Holy Communion Service at 8am and on Sundays.  We will also hold a said Holy Communion service on Wednesdays at 10.30am.

ALL SAINTS’ will be holding a ‘hybrid’ communion on 16th August with a small congregation in church and others able to join and participate interactively, live via ZoomWe hope to make this the norm from September onwards.  The remainder of August is likely to be Zoom only. We will continue to meet at 10am.

CHANGES in OUR CHURCHES BEING OPEN FOR PRIVATE PRAYER:

St Nicholas’ will be open, Saturdays, 10am to 12pm and Wednesday, 10am to 12pm. All Saints will no longer be open on Thursday mornings.  St Mary’s will no longer be open on Wednesday afternoons.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED for CLEANING: Are you willing to help with a basic clean after services, funerals, weddings or baptisms?  Please contact the clergy or parish office.  If we want to offer these services, we need help with cleaning.
