Our Parish now Supports Azalea

Azalea means beautiful and dignified in ancient Greek and its mission is to empower and facilitate sustainable transformation in the lives of the men, women and neighbourhoods impacted by sex trafficking through several different projects. Sex trafficking is when an individual is coerced, forced, or manipulated into providing sexual access or services to a ‘punter’ often through threats of, or acts of, violence from a perpetrator.  So what work does Azalea do?

British Humanitarian Aid  Collection

Thank you to everyone who gave donations to BHA at our recent  weekend collections . We had a fantastic response this time, from many members and organisations within our Town, and we collected more items than we could be load into one van; hence a return collection is being organised to fetch the additional items.

Christian Aid Week 2022

Once again the Harpenden Christian Aid committee organised a delivery only drop of House-to-House collection envelopes across the town. As always this was organised through local churches. A return visit to collect the donations is not required so we have found that more people were willing to volunteer and we managed to cover a substantial area of the town.

There will be a collection on: Saturday 14th May from 10 am to 3 pm
In the Cunningham Room in St Nicholas Church Halls

We are now able to get lorries into Ukraine, and there is an ongoing desperate need for food. Donations of the following are urgently needed…
Tins of soup, beans, tomatoes meat, fish, fruit , puddings , vegetables, etc. Dried Foods , Potatoes, packet soups, sauces, custard etc. Pasta, Rice Pasta sauces in jars or packets. Biscuits Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Dried milk (urgently needed) and Sugar Baby Foods and Milk Preferably dried
