Harpenden Child Contact Centre

Without the services of Harpenden Child Contact Centre, many separated families would be unable to meet their children after a relationship breakdown.  So local volunteers were delighted to meet Hitchin and Harpenden MP, Bim Afolami, when he dropped in at one of their fortnightly sessions at All Saints’ Church Hall in Harpenden recently.

Parish Giving

Please consider how you might support the mission and ministry of this parish. The church is a charity. It depends on the generosity of those who attend to keep it going and to pay for its running costs.

In order to make regular contributions to the Parish, please consider joining the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS). A Direct Debit can be set up by following this link https://www.parishgiving.org.uk/donors/find-your-parish/harpenden-st-nicholas-st-albans/ or by calling the dedicated hotline on 0333 002 1271, quoting our unique Parish Code (320 632 245) or by scanning the QR code with your mobile device . Church life carries on throughout the week, and we encourage members to engage in whatever ways they feel comfortable, and according to their gifts and inclinations, though we recognise that many members hold demanding jobs placing limits on their free time.

St. Mary’s Eco-Church

At St Marys we are participating in Eco Church: A Rocha UK’s award scheme for churches in England and Wales who want to demonstrate that the gospel is good news for God’s earth.

Their resources are designed to equip a church to express its care for God’s world in its worship and teaching; in how the church looks after its buildings and land; in how it engages with the local community and in global campaigns, and in the personal lifestyles of its congregation.

We want to be a church which cares for creation as an integral part of loving our neighbours and following God faithfully.

You can find out more about Eco church here:  Eco Church – An A Rocha UK Project

Please take a look at this wonderful water pump below; restored and renovated by Rob Hemmin to be part of our harvest display, it represents clean water for all and enough rain to water our crops; as we explore the theme of water. Our superb flower arranging team have put lots of thought into all of these windowsills to reflect our focus on Eco church: the areas where wild flowers were planted or encouraged to grow, to help our wildlife; the pollution of our seas, oceans and rivers; and the importance of our trees and woodland

All Saints’ Church

We have an active presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube

All Saints’ Church has long cherished its well-deserved reputation for friendliness, and we would love to welcome you into our fellowship. We are small enough that you can get to know most of our members, and large enough to have plenty going on.

Patterns of Worship

Full details of our worship patterns are given in our Services page.

Read more about our Associate Vicar, Revd James Brown, on our Clergy and Leadership page

We are currently meeting for worship at 10am every Sunday, alternating between Communion and a more informal Morning Worship. You are welcome equally to join us in church or live on Zoom (joining details in weekly emails to members or from our Associate Vicar).

All Saints Pastoral Care

We ensure that All Saints people are all members of a supportive group which can vary from Women’s Fellowship or a House Group to the Cleaning Team or one of the other many groups running in the District. The Pastoral Team provide a valuable link between those needing support and others in the congregation able to give it. The Team also advise clergy and together they oversee pastoral visiting and offer Home communion.

St. Mary’s Pastoral Care

Pastoral care for our congregation has developed over recent years and members are very supportive of each other. A pastoral care coordinator provides a valuable link between those needing support and others in the congregation able to give it. Rotas have been arranged for those who need help with shopping or transport. A Pastoral Team of six members, who have received training, visit people in need in the community, led and overseen by the Associate Vicar. If people would like to be visited, or know of people in our neighbourhood who need some help, please contact the Associate Vicar.

St. Mary’s Tuesday Afternoon Group

Tuesday Afternoon Group (TAG) is a social activity group open to all, both from the congregation and the local community. It meets monthly, on the 2nd Tuesday, in the church hall, and usually has a visiting speaker. Afternoon tea is provided.
